Bio: Anya Porter
Anya is mindful, curious and compassionately fierce in her approach to teaching. Her beginner classes teach clear, specific alignment and body awareness, while her upper-level classes fuse that specificity with sweaty and creatively structured flow of movement, all with an eye for care and compassion for the self through attuned action and intention. From her own studies, she uses the heat and meditation of Ashtanga, the clarity, precision and playfulness of Anusara and Iyengar, and the joyous movement and breath of Vinyasa to inform her teaching. She challenges her students to be playful and inquisitive about each moment on the mat, using physical action aligned with a deeper intention as opportunity to expand the mind and open the heart.
