How did you get into Acupuncture?
The short story…..At 30 years of age I broke off an engagement, found myself unemployed for the 3rd time and had an existential “what if” moment that put me on this path. I would have never thought I’d be so suited to practicing Acupuncture – but here I am – proof that you can always find your path.

Are their different types of Acupuncture?  Which do you practice?

Classical 5 Element Acupuncture . . . In Chinese medicine, all of nature can be explored through the model of the five elements: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal. These five elements function according to natural laws and also govern the human body, the energy or “Qi” pathways in the body called meridians and all aspects of the cycle of birth, life and death.

At the heart of Classical Five element Acupuncture is the belief that many physical ailments which people suffer from today are the product of emotional distress as much as any physical cause. The aim of Classical Five Element Acupuncture is to isolate the cause of disease. Energetic blocks that are causing physical and/or emotional level distress are made and treated. By working with the elemental root of imbalance, the acupuncture practitioner guides a person’s energy back towards its healthiest potential, energizing the self-healing and regenerating capacity of the body, mind and spirit.
