Kids Yoga Classes for All Ages Starts Jan. 11th!
Classes will be led by the lovely Sheila Lucus for all age groups: 2-5yrs, 5-8yrs and 8-11yrs.
Little Yogis (2-5yrs)
This fun imaginative class will ignite your child’s natural curiosity to learn. Through dynamic yoga adventure your child will exercise social, non-competitive, sensory and motor skills. Keeping their creativity and bodies flowing through simple yoga poses and interactive games, discovering that cooperation can be fun. Emphasis on enhancing concentration and listening skills.
This playful class supports self-expression through inspirational games, storytelling, music and art. Developing strength, coordination, and self-confidence through fun yoga sequences. Creativity, social interaction and enthusiastic communication are encouraged and build a positive class environment. Breathing and relaxation techniques are introduced.
Children at this age love challenges. Your child will build inspiration, self-assurance and agility working through challenging yoga poses. Team building games and partner poses to encourage cooperative community skills inside the classroom and out. Balancing and breathing exercises are explored further to improve concentration and focus.
Sheila Lucas, also known by her spiritual name Kumari, is dedicated to creating a healthier world though movement and education. Inspired by her first yoga class over 10 years ago, Kumari continued to deepen her own personal practice and is now a multi-certified instructor. Completing her 200hr YA certification though Sivananda Vedanta Center and continuing her yoga education, after the expectance of her first child, to include Prenatal, Postnatal/ Mommy & me, Kids and Family Yoga certifications.
In addition to her yoga teachings, Kumari is a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and focuses her work as a certified Holistic Health Coach around busy moms and families to help them attain their nutrition and wellness goals.
Kumari believes that developing healthy behaviors at gestation and early childhood will lead to a healthy, happy adulthood that will better the world for all.
